What Should Happen

When you click Demote or Promote, the item’s Promoted State updates to reflect the new status.

What Actually Happens

A confirmation message is displayed, but the value remains unchanged.

I was able to reproduce the same issue in my environment as well.

To confirm whether this is a bug, I’ve created the following issue and reported it to Microsoft.

I have the same on my side on several French tenants. I tried several site template, permissions, settings, all the same except on one tenant. Unable to identify the difference by now.
