These changes allow us to automatically update the Office and M365 galleries (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/gallery) with information for this tool. This also allows us to dynamically surface these tools in the Office / SharePoint Developer Portals, so that developers see the most up-to-date information.
