Thanks for the report.

I can't reproduce this when running brush --norc --noprofile. Chances are the error in question is coming from rendering the shell prompt. I'll also say that I also see errors in bash (without --norc --noprofile) when running ulimit -n 1.

We appreciate the reported issue, but I think this is too edge of an edge case. POSIX shells (and the processes spawned from them) weren't made to work well without the ability to open more files.

No, we can't make any guarantees about this right now. We improved one of the failure modes to avoid a panic that could also occur in other scenarios.

Is there a use case you have in mind? Or is there more just edge case stress testing?

People might not use this at main proccess, but (ulimit -n small_value) is sometimes used at GNU coreutils's test suite.

brush's main process exits with the case too (so #948 should have high-priority more than this issue).
