GeForce RTX 5080 not properly recognized

8.00b6 and 8.00b5 give the same error.

I have also had the same exit code -1073741819 (0xC0000005), but without the error message, with an RTX 3070 Ti Mobile.

I think here 8.00b6 shall still be able to run the encode process fine with RTX5080, which is recognized as device #0. Which is causing error is device #1.

I'm not sure of the cause of the device #1 (as I cannot reproduce it), 8.00b6 or later should be able to skip the DX11 error and work on CUDA device #0.

Does NVEncC64.exe --check-features --log-level debug show some message before crush? If so, would you please share the full result?

Yes, thank you. It works on both the PC and the laptop from the command line. With the 5080, the message is still displayed even after disabling the IGPU in the BIOS, but the encoding works. With the 3070, there's no message, and it also works.

The problem is using Staxrip. With the 5080, the message and the exit code are displayed, and the encoding doesn't start. With the 3070, only the exit code is displayed.

I'm unaware of Staxrip behavior, but means NVEnc needs to remove the message?

I've changed the initialization part in the test build below, although I'm unsure if this does work out (as my system doesn't show the error message), would you please have a try?

If it still does not work, please share the full log of NVEncC64.exe --check-hw --log-level debug. This test version has extra debug log added.

The message is still displayed with this build, but the problem isn't related to that, since the program works perfectly when run from the command line. Staxrip still crashes with the 3070 Ti, where there is not any initialization warning.

The issue only happens when running NVEncC through StaxRip with both GPUs I've tested. This isn't the first time I've seen or experienced this kind of problem, and sadly it will continue to happen because they don't know how/don't want to fix it.

I will close this issue now, as it 's not an NVEncC issue.
