Android: Highlight sometimes does not work

Basically the title, when I select some text to highlight, sometimes it works, but (for now) mostly it doesn't - nothing happens. Or maybe the text is highlighted but is not displayed as such.

System info (Newsblur is from F-Droid)

Just tried in 13.12.2. I don't know if I was doing something wrong, because I opened the issue based on trying to highlight using Story view (and not Text view).

In 13.12.2 for me highlighting in Story view still doesn't work at all. In Text view mostly works, but there are still cases where nothing is highlighted.

I don't see a pattern for the moment. I will send an article I was trying to highlight as a test:

By the way, is there an easier way to unhighlight other than selecting a highlighted section exactly as is and clicking "highlight" again?
