Summary of Changes

Hello @Johnsonms, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses a persistent shell error that occurs when users interact with a container's bash shell, specifically the 'No such file or directory' message related to /root/.cargo/env. The problem arises because shell configuration files retain references to Rust's environment setup even after the Rust installation itself has been removed during the Docker image build. The solution implemented is a targeted cleanup operation within the Dockerfile to ensure these outdated references are also purged, leading to a cleaner and error-free shell environment for container users.

Highlights

  • Bug Fix: Resolves an issue where users encountered a 'bash: /root/.cargo/env: No such file or directory' error when attaching to a container's shell, specifically reported in issue [Bug] Login shell error: bash: /root/.cargo/env: No such file or director #12936.
  • Dockerfile Cleanup: Modifies the docker/Dockerfile to remove lingering references to .cargo/env from /root/.profile and /root/.bashrc after Rust-related directories (/root/.cargo, /root/.rustup) have been uninstalled. This prevents the shell error from occurring.

Code Review

This pull request fixes a bug where an error message about a missing .cargo/env file was displayed upon entering the Docker container's shell. The fix correctly removes the Rust toolchain and then cleans up the sourcing of the Cargo environment from the shell profile files (/root/.profile and /root/.bashrc).

My review includes a suggestion to make the cleanup command in the Dockerfile more robust by explicitly checking for the existence of the profile files before modification. This avoids suppressing potentially important errors during the Docker build.
