Unable to save files

Hi. I seem to be unable to download any files.
Looking at some related issues, I feel like I am hitting #275, but I am still able to reproduce with v3.2 from flatpak.

I've also tried downloading from a different tab (Mattermost), which instead of downloading, opens the link in my browser, which of course does not work as this one is not logged in.

Hello, unfortunately same issue with WhatsApp webapp, with stock Fedora 41. I added the Download directory as an override to the flatpak but that did not seem to make a difference and the same error message:

You need to allow xdg-download:rw filesystem access in flatseal.

Oh, sorry, that's right. I had added it but forgot that flatpak default to :ro when nothing is specified. Many thanks!

Ok. That seems to fix WhatsApp, but more generic browser based chat clients, such as Mattermost, still don't seem to work.
If I click download, or save image, it opens the file in my normal browser and does not save them.

I don't use mattermost, but I do use Element/matrix and enabling this fixed the issue.

Check in the WebInspector JS console if there is any error.

I've checked the 'inspect element' console in Tangram and did not see anything pop out.

As I cannot share to much of the Mattermost content, I've replicated the issue my own website (marcusvandam.nl), If you navigate to any picture in the album, and click the 'download' button, it just opens in my Firefox/Librewolf browser instead of a file picker for download.

I would be happy to provide any traces/logs if you can let me know how to obtain a useful one for you?

I can reproduce this indeed, current webkitgtk version is 2.48.1 in tangram. I cannot reproduce this in GNOME Web TechPreview though. I'm not sure what's going on, not familiar with webkit's download stuff.
