To avoid confusion, I am going to paste part my pom hoping it will contain your fix:

Should I go with:

<dependencies>
		<dependency>
			<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
			<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-data-elasticsearch</artifactId>
		</dependency>
<dependency>
  <groupId>org.springframework.data</groupId>
  <artifactId>spring-data-elasticsearch</artifactId>
  <version>5.1.0-SNAPSHOT</version>
</dependency>
		<dependency>
			<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
			<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-webflux</artifactId>
		</dependency>
	</dependencies>

i.e adding an extra block to spring-data-elasticsearch at version 5.1.0-SNAPSHOT?

please let me know as I am looking forward to validating this.

When using Spring Data Elasticsearch 5.1.0-SNAPSHOT you should also add

<dependency>
  <groupId>org.springframework.data</groupId>
  <artifactId>spring-data-commons</artifactId>
  <version>3.1.0-SNAPSHOT</version>
</dependency>
