Question: how to speicfy the SEGGER JLink home path

My PC have multiple SEGGER JLinks installed.
By default, it always use the old one.

My question is how to specify the path of JLink home to use?
Hope to provide a parameter path to allow user to set it.

Huh, this is missing in the documentation for some reason. You have to create and pass your own Library instance in the constructor: https://pylink.readthedocs.io/en/latest/pylink.html#library

from pylink.jlink import JLink
from pylink.library import Library

jl = JLink(lib=lib)

Thanks, but you have to specify the full path of DLL or SO.
Is possible to auto search in specific SEGGER folder?
It makes easier to use different version of DLL

Jink(path="C:/Programs Files/SEGGER/JLink_8228")

Jink(path="/opt/SEGGER/JLink_1")

lib = Library(dir="/opt/SEGGER/JLink_1")
jl = JLink(lib=lib)

It looks like in it's current iteration, it doesn't support a directory search. It calls .load directly with the path to try and load it: https://github.com/square/pylink/blob/master/pylink/library.py#L312. I don't think it would be too difficult to add what you're asking. It would be extending the find_library_<platform> class methods to take an optional root directory to search it, then changing .load() to check if the path it was given was a file or a directory. Something like:

    def load(self, path=None):
        if path is not None and os.path.isdir(path):
            # Path is a directory to search.
            if self._windows or self._cygwin:
                path = next(self.find_library_windows(root=path), None)
            elif sys.platform.startswith('linux'):
                path = next(self.find_library_linux(root=path), None)
            elif sys.platform.startswith('darwin'):
                path = next(self.find_library_darwin(root=path), None)

        self._path = path or self._path

Then in the find_library_* methods:

    @classmethod
    def find_library_linux(cls: Library, root: Optional[str] = None) -> Generator[str, None, None]:
        dll = Library.JLINK_SDK_NAME
        root = root or os.path.join('/', 'opt', 'SEGGER')

I could take a look at something like this, but it wouldn't be in the near time. At least a week. Alternatively, if you want to take a stab at this, I can review the code.

Looks like @fxd0h already implemented such request in his PR.
Specifying the path is also relevant for SEGGER RTT usage, as the default SEGGER DLL discovery does not ensure the latest version is used.
