Wouldn't that violate the license though ?
The font is GPL licensed. That means any work using the font needs to be GPL licensed as well. So only open source games can use it

Commercial Use

A user has asked if GNU Unifont can be used with commercial (non-free) software. The answer is yes. The GNU Font Embedding Exception and the SIL OFL allow for that. See the next section for details. The main purpose of the licensing is to require derivative fonts that others create to be released to the public under the same licensing terms, not to prohibit the use of those fonts with certain software. Thus, preserving the license terms in derivative fonts provides a public benefit. The licenses also provide acknowledgement of previous Unifont contributors for their volunteer work.

Basically, Unifont's GPL2 and OFLv1.1 exist to protect people's ability to fork the font like I did to make UnifontEX. Essentially it functions like the ShareAlike portion of the CC-BY-SA license which as of 2020 is able to be licensed as GPL3 without conflicts. Anyways, in this case it's to ensure that forks of Unifont such as UnifontEX are licensed under the same terms that Unifont itself is licensed as. Canonically, it is NOT intended to limit what people can integrate it into. As a reminder, GPL and CC-BY-SA4 don't ban commercial use so long as the terms are followed. Ardour doesn't charge for its GPL code but does charge for compiled blob binaries that you don't need to compile and it complies with GPL. But even then, it is also why this project, plus my other libre ones, have Github Sponsors or if on Itch, an option to donate, because as long as I'm not charging a mandatory access fee I can in fact gain something. Also putting UnifontEX into a display chip or BIOS and my JummBox SoundFont into a sound chip or making a BWTC32Key equivalent of a DEFLATE decoder IC is all perfectly legal so long as there are links and a QR in the box to point to everything. This is to comply with the disclosure and attribution rules.

Also UnifontEX supports Unicode 16 and will support Unicode 17 next year, and fill 65535 glyphs in Unicode 18 or 19 depending on how much Plane 0 glyphs get added.
