Indenting Numbering

I think it will be easy for you to reproduce, but I'm working with a lot of numbered lists right now and correcting the indention (from copy/pasting in). And I'm noticing when I put my cursor to the left of the mark, hit tab, it indents correctly the first time, but then it moves the cursor to the right of the mark, so if you indent again, it breaks it basically.

Let me know if you need more than this, but I think it will be straight forward when you try it yourself.

Edit: still working on accurate reproduction, but I think it's scenarios where a bullet converts into a letter or number.

I am detecting another bug with this, though I'm having a difficult time accurately reproducing it.

Basically, when I have several indented "dots" underneath another dot (all the sub dots indented one time further than the initial dot), when I go to the far left of the first sub dot and try to hit "delete" (to remove the indent), sometimes it weirdly turns into a dash being displayed instead.

I'm sorry I can't give you more specifics than this right now. I'll update it if/when I can. For now, I'd just recommend taking a few dot items indented underneath another dot item and then experiment with indenting them once or twice to the right, and then trying to remove the indention by placing the input cursor to the far left margin of the first sublist item, then hitting delete.

As a note: if this behavior is intended in someway, then it is not working reliably. I say this because I'm pasting lots of text with a dot item with subdots underneath it, and when I clean up most of them, I keep dots. Periodically, I get dashes instead. I don't know if it's a Tangent inconsistency or I'm doing something slightly differently and getting a different result because of it. Point being, though, I'm not doing anything super odd (I'm acting in a way you'd anticipate a user doing what I described might act), but I'm getting some inconsistencies that I can't entirely pin down. I assume it's related to the parent issue, which is why I added it here instead of making a new ticket.

Also getting this odd behavior.

I think the reproduction on this is the dashed items below. For whatever reason, if I put a "1." on top of it in this case, it converts it to a dash, whereas now that I put a line break between it, it numbers correctly.

Oh that's interesting! The 1. should absolutely be overriding the - and converting it to a 2.. Good report!

The behavior of symbols changing around looks to be intentional. I could repro by going from a * item with two tabs of indentation to one.

It may well be that you want to turn off the automatic switching behavior.

The second post one is more tricky for me to reproduce. I'll try to update it here when I get a better sequence on it.

Edit: I'll try to reproduce the first one, too, but I'm not entirely sure which scenarios an indent makes Tangent convert an asterisk into a letter (maybe works with certain numbers, too), but when I was indenting them, my cursor would move onto the right of the number/letter, so if I hit tab a second time, it would end up with:

" 6 . "

I'm not 100% what all your creation rules are for how this formatting works, but I was in a situation where I had a dot (asterisk) and I indented into either a number or a letter. It might have been a letter. (When I reproduce it again, I'll try to clarify. I was doing a lot of the same type of work a couple days ago and I kept running into a lot of the same behavior, but I've been working on different things since then and haven't so much).

Anyways, basically what was happening when I'd tab was (pipe operator is my input cursor):

    6|.
    6    |.

Anywho. I didn't see it as intended behavior and in this very specific scenario was blocking a double tab indent without manually moving the cursor back to the left of the letter/number (again, sorry, don't recall if it was with both or just one or the other).

The second message from the top (harder for me to recreate), I was in a situation where I had:

    *
    *
    *

And I'd delete from here:

*
|   *
    *
    *

And I'd end up with:

*
-
    *
    *

Anywho. I don't entirely know your rules on all the conditions you want these things to happen, so I can't reliably recreate them in a test note (I'll try a little harder when I run into them again). I assumed (wrongly, I suppose) that they'd be pretty easy for you to recreate, so I mostly just kept moving about my day (lol, been a busy week). If I nail the behaviors more precisely, I'll let you know, though.
