[FR] CTRL+Click from Folder Views

Expected Behavior

When I have card view open for a folder, as well as a note open to its right, if the cursor is in the note to the right, and I CTRL+Click on a card in the folder, it opens to the right of the note with the cursor.

Actual Behavior

Regardless of what is to the right of the folder card view, it will all be replaced/displaced by a click or CTRL+Click of any card.

I just wanted to add that I really appreciate your persistent development of Tangent. I'm always on the lookout for kinks in the polish or functionality of open source stuff that I use, and I have to say, I'm really having a difficult time finding these instances in Tangent these days. It's really come a long ways and found a very stable footing. I know that will ebb and flow as new features, etc are added, but still. It's a testiment to your dedication. Anywho. Just wanted to thank you again. It's an integral part of my daily life and it's a real pleasure to use streamlined things (high function, low feature) things that just work.

When you say that the note is open to the right, is it directly adjacent or is it further to the right (with notes in between)?

The note is currently always opening directly adjacent, and I'm suggesting that it should act like a lot of the other stuff (to the right of the currently active pane, regardless of where the CTRL+Click originated from). And <3

Oh, interesting. So you're in a situation where you have selected a note to the right of the folder, and you want to Ctrl+Click on a note in the folder (which is to the left) to open it to the right of that note?

And weird! I'm noticing notes don't normally do this either, which I could have sworn they did. I suppose I generally tend to favor the sidebar. That would expand my FR, I suppose!

But yes, I'm often in a situation where I, for example, open a folder in card view and then want to open a handful of items simultaneously (maybe to work between them, for example), and it always replaces the one to the right of the folder.

My request then is regardless of where the CTRL+Click comes from, if the input cursor is in a note, we should open immediately to its right. That's the request, anyways.

I understand the request. I think there's a fundamental tension or disagreement between what you're looking for and more naive user behavior. I think the naive user would expect that clicking a link in a pane to be relative to that pane.

A potential solution to the problem might be to add another modifier to the mix that directs the click to append to the end of a thread instead. That would let you open a folder and click multiple things in a row to fill a thread out.
