2FA Guard has been running in the background for about 4 hours, and I've noticed it's using a lot of RAM.

Thanks a lot for reporting this. I’ve monitored the application for several hours but wasn’t able to reproduce any increasing RAM usage on my end. Did you leave the app running idle, or were you actively locking and unlocking it multiple times? Which page was open when you noticed the high memory usage (for example, the tokens page)?

This morning I tried again to reproduce the problem but couldn’t at first.
After about an hour, the memory usage was still around 300 MB, so I locked my PC and went to get some coffee.
When I unlocked my PC again, I saw in Task Manager that 2FAGuard was showing CPU usage between 0.3 % and 3–4 %, and the memory usage kept increasing. The program was minimized at that time.

I have 6 tokens saved in the program.
These are my settings. Apart from “Screen capture prevented,” everything should be set to default.

Sorry for the delay. I still couldn't find the memory leak with a lot more tokens. I managed to temporarily increase the memory usage a bit (always less than 600 MB), but only for a short period of time until it is cleaned up again by the garbage collection.

Hi @larbar,
The next time 2FAGuard uses a lot of memory, you could follow these steps:

1. Download Perfview by Microsoft (Standalone, no installation required)
2. Open it and click on Memory -> Take heap snapshot
3. Double click on 2FAGuard
4. ZIP and send me the created gcdump file

@timokoessler I am facing the same issue, and very high CPU usage too.

Hi, I installed the preview version and I'm still experiencing high CPU and RAM usage. The program ran in the background for approximately 3 hours.

The preview version rendered my laptop useless, ran oom and crashed my system. Force shutdown was the only option.
