Customized Windows 11 25H2 ISO with Microwin fails to install on VMware (missing drivers)

When using Microwin from Winutil to customize a Windows 11 25H2 ISO, the installation fails in VMware. At the first Windows 11 setup screen, it says that drivers are missing.

This problem does not occur when I use the original ISO without Microwin, so the base ISO is working correctly.

🔄 Steps to reproduce the issue.

1- Download Windows 11 25H2 ISO (working fine by itself).

2- Run Microwin from Winutil to customize the ISO.

3- Try to install the customized ISO in VMware Workstation/Player.

4- At the first setup screen, Windows shows a message that drivers are missing and installation cannot continue.

Windows 11 ISO: 26200.6584.250915-1905.25h2_ge_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_CONSUMER_x64FRE_en-us

VMware version: Workstation 17 Pro

Winutil version: 25.09.05

Microwin settings: Only the username was entered. Other values are default.

The base ISO works fine in VMware without Microwin.
The issue only occurs after applying Microwin customization.

I had the same issue but rerunning the Microwin again and testing in a vm it works. Something i also noticed if using Rufus if the Microwin iso is bad Rufus will not show "Image option" basically it doesn't see it as a windows iso. My good Microwin iso does get detected as a windows iso in Rufus.

@Glought I also tried with Rufus and it gives the same error if I use the microwin ISO, only the original ISO version works with Rufus and it can also register with a local account without any problems.

I tried a couple of days ago with microwin iso

did you untick the box where it said something "get oscdimg.exe on github" ?
If leave it on tick you will get that windows instead of normal windows installation

maybe some logs from %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\winutil\logs might help.

did you untick the box where it said something "get oscdimg.exe on github" ? If leave it on tick you will get that windows instead of normal windows installation sorry my English is not good

This seem to solve issue on real hardware unconfirmed on vmware or virtual machines.
